About Center for Research of Kartvelian Civilization
Mission
The Center's six-fold mission is to:
- Preserve linguistic and cultural heritage of the Kartvelian people.
- Pursue research of linguistic and cultural contacts of the Kartvelian languages and culture with ancient and modern civilizations.
- Establish and share "A New Cycle of Revived Knowledge" with specialists and the wider public.
- Disseminate the results of the Center's scientific work and raise public scholarly awareness in the fields encompassed by CRKC’s activities.
- Award Georgian scholars with funds to continue their work.
- Assist scholars outside Georgia in obtaining Kartvelian data necessary for their research interests.
Each part of the six-fold mission (above) comprises multiple objectives (below) which the Center will continuously work toward to achieve its goals.
- Digitize the manuscripts preserved in the archive of the Research Institute of History and Ethnology of the Academy of Sciences of Georgia with the ultimate goal of their publication and the creation of an electronic library in the Center.
- Conduct research in the archives of Georgia and abroad with the aim of recording and/or obtaining (in the original or a copy), digitized and published documents related to the Kartvelian civilization.
- Assist research institutes, museums (ethnology, folk musical instruments), and other organizations to preserve objects and digitize material.
- 2. Pursue research of linguistic and cultural contacts of the Kartvelian languages and culture with ancient and modern civilizations:
- Initiate collaboration of Georgian and international scholars who work in various spheres of science to support the research of the Center.
- Direct ethnographic expeditions to produce text and image (audio, photo and video) recordings of ancient religious rites in Georgia.
- Conduct ethnographic expeditions outside Georgia to develop text and image (audio, photo and video) recordings of ancient cultural remains which demonstrate affinities to the Kartvelian civilization.
- Publish research results in electronic form.
- Hold monthly meetings to assess, discuss, and adjust the progress of current activities and future plans.
- Convene annual or bi-annual conferences and publish its proceedings.
- 3. Establish and implement "A New Cycle of Revived Knowledge" in Georgia's educational system. The defining principles of the Cycle include:
- Build meta-knowledge and meta-consciousness through understanding and integrating the existing amount of information and significant new developments.
- Heighten the awareness of the era of neutrino physics and the increasing reciprocation of science and religion.
- Turn meta-ecology (ecology of space, nature, bio-energetic information, sound, etc.) into the highest moral code.
- Create a novel school model based on the new philosophy of children’s pedagogy.
- Increase the awareness of importance of Synergy-Medicine and the requirements of the 21st Century.
- Enhance the awareness of the nation’s historical and mythological roots.
- Preserve statehood, ethno-psychology and native culture in the 21st Century.
- 4. Disseminate the results of the Center's scientific research and raise the scholarly awareness of the public in the fields encompassed by CRKC’s activities:
- Hold regular lectures for students and the general public on various issues pertaining to the scientific scope of the Center.
- Produce, publish, exhibit and sell the results of the scientific research.
- Hold public viewing and lectures of raw footage as well as documentaries in the possession of the Center.
- Translate and publish works of Georgian scholars relevant to the Center.
- Cooperate with higher educational institutions, archives, museums, and research centers in Georgia and abroad.
- Assist Georgian scholars financially and in publishing their works.
- Support young Georgian scholars, who work in the Center's scientific fields, with consultations, finances and in publishing their works.
- Grant scholarships to young Georgian scholars for special purposes.
- Award prizes for worthy scholarship outside the Center.
- 6. Assist scholars outside Georgia in obtaining Kartvelian data necessary for their research interests:
- Supply bibliographies on topics of interest.
- Furnish summaries of requested works.
- Provide translations of articles and excerpts from monographs.
